CASTANET TECHNIQUE
MULTI-LEVEL
Castanets are a very representative instrument of flamenco music and dance, and of Spanish culture and folklore in general. A symbol of joy, they are used to accompany and adorn many dances, including the popular Sevillanas.
During this multi-level course, these in-person or virtual classes will introduce dancers to the different “toques” of castanets and their correct execution including arm movements. We will learn using many different rhythms, among them the “toque” of the Sevillanas.
